Kudos to Vinay Bhagat of Convio for winning the 2012 Care2 Impact Prize for his outstanding impact in online advocacy and fundraising. Bhagat garnered the most votes from the NTEN community, from among a pool of incredibly accomplished finalists including Nancy Lublin of
DoSomething.org, Geoff Handy of Humane Society of the U.S., Paull Young of charity: water and Marc Sirkin of Autism Speaks. More than 1100 people took part in the voting over the past week.
Care2 Vice President of Nonprofit Services Clint O'Brien announced the prize winner today during the awards luncheon at the annual NTEN (NTC) conference. O'Brien praised Bhagat for founding the influential and successful software platform, Convio, which helped more than 1600 nonprofits to raise $1.3 billion in 2011 alone. He also noted that Bhagat is a longtime thought leader in the nonprofit community who has made a sustained and meaningful contribution to pioneering analytical frameworks to build the business case for driving better fundraising integration across channels.
