Most online fundraising begins and ends with email. The vast majority of donations made online are in response to an email from the charity asking for a donation.
But many charities are skipping simple steps that can seriously boost response to email fundraising appeals!
Are you pre-populating donation forms, or making your prospects and donors re-enter their address every time they donate? Does the branding on your landing page match the branding in your email? Or do you use a generic landing page for all donation appeals? (Don’t worry, we’re here to help!)

Nonprofits raised $298.4 billion in 2011, according Giving USA, one of the largest studies conducted in the nonprofit sector. Thanks to public pressure and smart online/offline organizing new anti-corruptions laws are now in the works.

I’m psyched to be hosting the Nonprofit Blog Carnival on April 30th over here at the Rad Campaign blog, where we will be exploring one of our favorite topics – social fundraising. We are interested in blog posts from across the nonprofit sector that discuss the role of social fundraising and crowd-funding to foster community, spread your mission, and empower supporters to raise money on behalf of inspiring nonprofits who are creating social change.
To enter the nonprofit blog carnival for April, email your permalink to nonprofitcarnival at gmail dot com by April 27th. Then on April 30th, come back to the Rad Campaign blog and check out our social fundraising blog roundup.
And while I have you’re attention, definitely check out last month’s blog carnival hosted by nonprofit superstar Katya Andresen of Network for Good, which highlights storytelling through evocative images and design.
